DEELSTRA, JOHANNES & JISKA

The Deelstra family lives in the Rotterdam area of the Netherlands. Johannes and Jiska have 5 kids, age 9, 7, 4, 2 and 1. After graduating at FIRE School of Ministry Europe, they both worked as staff for the school in administration, teaching and leading missions trips.

Since early 2021 they have opened their home for a house fellowship group. Together with a small group of lovers of Jesus they meet with each other weekly to “break the bread together”, sharing the Word of God with each other and worshipping Jesus.
They are working together alongside other FI families in the Netherlands, the Glastra’s and the Joustra’s. As a team they planted King’s Church in August 2022.
Their heart is for prayer that moves mountains, preaching the Gospel to see the lost get saved, sharing life together as a family of God and to believe and seek the Lord for revival.
To be a place where Jesus’ Presence is. Where He is worshipped and where He can be found. To see people being touched by Him is the most beautiful thing!

With so many nationalities in the Netherlands there are great opportunities to reach many people from different cultures with the Gospel. Yet we also sense a great hunger and need for the Dutch people to find true life and meaning in Christ in these dark times.
In several local outreaches, like walking with a wooden cross, or reaching out to truckers they evangelize on the streets.

Also the Lord stirs their hearts for missions. As a church, though still small, they are sending people to the mission field and full-time Bible school already. God is so good! Their vision is to expand in mission trips, bringing teams, and to give young people an opportunity to serve and have a taste of missions.

Being a part of the FI family is such a privilege and blessing. Everyone carries that hunger and thirst for God’s presence and always anticipates a move of the Holy Spirit. That is what they carry also in the Netherlands. Yes, they do missions, outreaches and lots of children’s ministry, but their highest call is to sit at His feet and worship Him. They love to worship Jesus and pray. Because He deserves all the glory and praise! He deserves all our time, energy, skills; our very lives! He is the Lamb that was slain and rose from the dead. He is the Lover our soul!
