MARTINY, TIM & SHARIE – Cadaniño

Founded and run by Timothy and Sharie Martiny, Cadaniño is a faith-based ministry in Guatemala that exists to disciple, educate, and strengthen vulnerable children and families through afterschool programs rooted in the love of Christ.

We operate two Community Impact Centers located in Colonia Santa Fe and San José Pinula, serving more than 250 students, and their families, each year. Our holistic model is built on three pillars: Spiritual Formation, Academic Reinforcement, and Family Strengthening.

Children attend our programs in the afternoons receiving: Bible training teaching them to grow in faith and character, computer classes that build digital literacy and STEM skills and tutoring and academic support to help students thrive in school.

We are deeply committed to raising up young leaders grounded in their faith. Through our discipleship and youth missions’ clubs, students are mentored, trained, and equipped to teach the Word of God to others. Many have gone on to lead Bible classes for younger children, share their testimonies, and serve in their communities—living out their faith with boldness and purpose.

At the heart of our ministry is a deep investment in local leadership. We hire, train, equip, and disciple Guatemalan teachers—empowering them to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their communities. These dedicated educators are not only instructors, but also spiritual mentors, role models, and shepherds of the children and families we serve.

Beyond working with students, we reach hundreds of parents and caregivers each year through discipleship programs, workshops, home visits, and personalized support—helping families stay strong, stable, and connected.

Our mission is rooted in James 1:27: “to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” By focusing on orphan care and prevention, Cadaniño works to reduce the risk of children entering institutional care and instead empowers families to grow and flourish together through the transforming power of the gospel.

What began in as simple Bible and English classes in an orphanage has grown into a comprehensive ministry equipping children with life-changing skills, nurturing their faith, and raising up local leaders to bring lasting transformation in their communities.

Cadaniño is led by Timothy and Sharie Martiny, who have served as missionaries in Guatemala since 2002. Together with a dedicated team of local teachers and mentors, they continue to build a legacy of hope, faith, and impact that reaches generations.
