Brian & Stephanie Forbes April 2021 - Fire International

The workshop

Stephanie saw a tree down on the barbed wire fence line. We went to take a look and discovered that there were 3 trees down. This is our neighbor’s fence and he raises cattle for beef production. A couple days earlier a bull was outside the fence wandering around. I guessed we found his escape route and notified the owner. Our cat, Ashley, followed us around the woods and needed a nap afterward.

The trees are in full bloom. The Dogwoods look amazing. Stephanie wants to plant more. We learned about a tropical fruit tree native to the mountains here called a PawPaw. We hope to grow some once we finish landscaping. I am excited to note for the first time in   almost 2 years we have grass growing. We all experienced that freeze that came near the end of April. We hope the young grass survives.

Over winter I noticed some heat loss where the main structural support beam meets the roof. It has taken some time to get the materials together to seal the beams. It took about 2 weeks to complete the project. I am already noticing a difference.

During the past month I calculated and made drawings of the guest level to determine the cost of materials, including some hired out work, to complete the area. It came to over $18,000.00. This does not include furnishings, decor and other amenities. It feels good to have the decisions finalized and put on paper. Thanks  to my friend Ben for encouraging me to calculate this cost.

Pray for The Workshop.
We continue to reach out by phone to communicate with ministers God has set in our hearts. It is not the same as seeing people in person.
Pray for wisdom and insight moving forward on our house as we serve God here in North Carolina at The Workshop.

We thank God for each one of you, your prayers and your support in our new adventure of bringing ministers into our home. Pray as we finish the guest area of our home.

About Brian & Stephanie Forbes

“We fix broken hearts and parts.”

We come alongside ministries providing practical solutions to everyday problems. This builds a trust between us that enables those in ministry to openly communicate what is in their hearts. We see freedom come as Jesus guides us in healing lives. These times of refreshing are great morale boosters offering the edge needed to effectively minister.
