Jeryl & Bethany Zimmerman April 2021 - Fire International

Greetings Friends, Family and Partners,

Psalm 126:3 says: “The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy,” and indeed we are FILLED with joy! In 2021 we have had three ladies decide to turn their backs on their lives of prostitution. They have recognized their need to focus on their faith and families.

The first woman’s journey towards God began several years ago. She asked me (Bethany) to pray for her to have a child because she had been declared barren. I simply prayed for God’s will to be done (because how else do you pray when a prostitute asks to get pregnant?!) and a month later she confirmed God had answered her prayer to conceive a child with her husband. However, it took the pandemic for her to come to terms for her complete need to repent and live for God. She is now praying for her husband (who is a practicing Muslim) to know Christ and experience His freedom. Also, she is learning how to lead worship in her new church! (She and her little miracle are pictured right with groceries we provided after Bible Study).

The second woman said the pandemic is what drove her to finish her necessary documents to get a respectable job and in her words she has “no regrets” leaving prostitution. She meets regularly with the team to continue studying the Bible and we are believing for her salvation. (Pictured right with Cherry who bought shoes from her to show our support).

The third is seeking employment overseas and we are helping and guiding her to safe agencies to do so. She is the very first girl to open her home to us to do Bible Study nearly five years ago and now her whole family is serving God. We are so happy that she has finally made the decision to follow Him, too!

Despite the pandemic we are seeing fruit! These testimonies truly display what Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Now is not the time to shrink back but to continue pushing forward, we will not give up.

On that note, I want to mention that none of this would be possible without your financial help and your prayers! May is our annual month of prayer and fasting and we invite you to join us. You can find a copy of our May prayer calendar with prayer points for each day enclosed with this letter. Let’s pray that we continue to bear fruit that lasts for His glory! As always, thank you for support and love.
