Dear Family and Friends,
I hope you all had a Happy Easter. Schools here are on their typical two-week break with an extended week before Easter. Just before Easter, we had two to three days of warm weather, in the 70’s, which is rare for this time of year. Then just last week we had heavy snow and hail storms, with it all melting within an hour. What a strange year, even in the weather. People in Belgium usually go out of the country over Easter, but with the Covid-19 restrictions, they are vacationing in another corner of Belgium.
Our trees are just beginning to bloom. I’m sure it’s due to the weather changes.
People are yearning to be outdoors and meet together, especially this time of year. The Belgian government went back to some more lock-down regulations for four weeks. Hairdressers closed down again; restaurants are still closed except some for take-out; shopping in many stores is by appointment only; churches are still not allowed to meet in person; people are working from home; we can only have one visitor in our home. So life is not at all normal yet. I’ve finally learned how to invite people to a ZOOM meeting though. Covid-19 vaccinations are being given to people over 65 here, after those in rest homes and medical staff have received theirs. Belgian officials think that the country can be opened up for non-essential travel after everyone is vaccinated. So, I’m continuing to pray for healthy people, a healthy nation, and a healthy mindset.
Even though people are working from home, things are still taking place. Church meetings are being held live-streaming on Facebook and ZOOM; work meetings are ZOOMing; prayer meetings are ZOOMing… During February and March, I joined a Connect Group from my church on Healthy Boundaries, studying the Boundaries book by Townsend and Cloud. Before it ended, four different people asked for prayer for jobs as they either wanted or needed a change or their contract had ended. Some of them have already found new jobs. Yay! That’s our God! So, even though things have seemed to be stagnant, things are still moving ahead.
I am still praying weekly with three other ladies for whatever the Lord lays on our hearts for Belgium. I pray weekly with a friend on the phone or via Whatsapp. I’ve been regularly connecting with friends via ZOOM and Whatsapp to talk and pray together. It’s important for none of us to feel isolated, no matter where we are or what we are doing.
The international prayer team (RTC), of which I’m part, met together via ZOOM for a day of prayer in mid-March. We shared some about ourselves, and how we are doing, prayed for each other, and then prayed for the different countries and areas we represented. It was the most powerful prayer meeting I’ve ever been part of via ZOOM. Wow! Just after that meeting, we lost one of our team members to Covid-19. Irena is and will be missed in the body of Christ and by our team.
I am doing well. I see my physical therapist once a week and am exercising on my own at home. My yearly medical checkups show I am still cancer-free (since 2007)! What a blessing! Sometimes not being able to interact more with others is frustrating, but for the most part, I’m okay.
Will you pray that I can continue to be disciplined enough to eat right, exercise,
and be healed of diabetes, respiratory problems and heart weakness with
no long-term problems?
I thank you and the Lord for His provision financially. A few “extra” gifts have come in lately.
I would appreciate your prayers that all that has been promised to me will come in. The Lord has been and is faithful to provide.
Will you pray that my support will increase and my expenses decrease?
May God’s Kingdom come here on earth as it is in Heaven!
Thank you so much for your prayers, friendship and support. Your partnership is so important to me. I love and appreciate each of you so much.
Love in Christ,

Dear Family and Friends, It IS Summer, but the weather here in Belgium feels like Spring with highs around 70F (20C), sometimes with wind and rain. So it doesn’t feel too much like Summer and the streets are pretty quiet due to people working from home. Belgium is...
