Greetings Friends, Family and Partners,
Happy almost Spring! Last month I mentioned “Ellie,” who needed surgery and could not get financial assistance through the hospital but we were able to connect her to a different doctor. I’m happy to report that she had her surgery and is now recovering. The doctor has also offered to see and treat other ladies as needs arise for a discounted price. This is a huge breakthrough as we have been searching for a doctor for several years now.
Cherry is also working on our annual government registrations and has also taken on the task to get ACCERT registered. ACCERT is an organization that advocates for programs like ours to be registered as front-liners as well as educating folks on how to respond when confronted with crime activity, emergencies, etc. This registration will also help our team move through the many city check-points easily. The emergency training is also helpful, just this month our team was onsite during a buy-bust by the police! So this is helpful progress.
We also continue to minister to the ladies on-site at several locations as well as in their homes. We have been providing Bibles and continuing to pursue deeper relationships that lead to discipleship.
Personal Update: Jeryl and I recently added a sweet puppy, Ali, to our home and she has added so much spunk and love! Jeryl also recently celebrated a milestone birthday that we were happy to celebrate with dumplings (you can take the girl out of Asia, but the cravings remain!) Jeryl and I continue to visit our church family in NYC. Jeryl has continued to be chaplain at the local youth prison and I (Bethany) have been enjoying serving as Restoration Coach at The Harbor (a home for women rescued out of sex-trafficking).
I also wanted to say thank you to those who responded and blessed Beauty for Ashes last month financially! We are still in need of regular monthly support (more details on back) but thanks to several people’s generosity we were overwhelmed yet again by God’s faithful provision! Thank you for support and love.
