Greetings Friends, Family and Partners,
This is one of those letters where I hope I can fit all the good news on one page! First, I want to share that our Outreach Coordinator, Cherry, has now been hired FULL-TIME! This was a big financial faith step for us but it was becoming more and more clear that it was necessary. With the pandemic we have seen the need to focus on home, hospital, and general visits outside of our time on the streets and this will allow her that time in addition to the administrative tasks she handles.
Cherry has already done an incredible job and has hit the ground running with her new expanded role. Recently she and a volunteer were able to visit one of the ladies, “Jan,” at her home (pictured right). Jan had been distraught over an ear infection her daughter had and the lack of funds for a doctor visit. Cherry offered to come visit and pray for her daughter. They had a wonderful time catching up and ministering to her and her sister who lives with her and also works on the street. They prayed for Jan’s daughter and we are happy to report her ear infection cleared up without going to the doctor! Jan then told Cherry they are welcome in her home any time! They are now working on a monthly visitation schedule.
In the same week another lady, “Ellie,” contacted the team to let us know she needed surgery and could not get financial assistance through the hospital. Not knowing who else to call she asked for prayer and help. Cherry met with her to bring her to a doctor she knows and the doctor agreed that she needed the surgery but also gave her an extremely discounted price! Ellie saw this as God’s provision and kept expressing her amazing at such kindness. She too is now more open than ever to have us visit her and continue to introduce the Gospel to her.
We also had our annual “Love-Day” Outreach. Our team assembled chocolates and roses with a note and went to the different locations in the city (in the rain!) where they knew the ladies would be and met with some throughout the day to deliver their gifts. There were smiles all around and God’s love was expressed deeply as this simple act of kindness opened the door to conversation and many prayers.
On another note I’m asking those of you who do not already support us to please prayerfully consider blessing Beauty for Ashes financially. In the last few months our support has dwindled down to nearly a quarter of what it was. Thankfully God has provided but we do still need your support! Your support is making an impact in the nations and here in the USA as we minister locally as well. Your continued prayerful and financial support is crucial to the success of the growing vision of Beauty for Ashes Philippines and we cannot say thank you enough for your love and support!
