This has been quite the holiday season, with the turmoil in our government. Thank Jesus that we serve a Great God, and He is on the throne. Mathew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
And this fact has been proven over and over again.
Doors have been open to share in local churches a couple times in December , so far I am scheduled to speak 4 times in January. Becki is lighting the faces on many of the local widows in Hunter as she is bringing them meals and has fellowship with them. And Grandma Dorothy has a couple widows asking for her to help with sewing and shopping. God is up to something.
January 5th I had a gallbladder attack and on the 6th had it removed.
This is the faithfulness of God.
Becki’s mom was going to go to Minnasota on Monday but Sunday her sister called off the trip.
On Monday I started fasting supper, only eating breakfast and lunch.
On Tuesday after lunch I had the gallbladder attack.
Around 9:00pm while I was taking a hot shower I really felt I needed to go to the hospital.
Grandma can now watch the kids while Becki and I are gone.
We get to the hospital and have all of the tests and are then able to have surgery since I had not eaten since lunch the previous day.
If my gallstone had gone into the main bile tube to the intestine then it would have lodged, backed up fluid to my liver and pancreas and I would have gone septic.
As it is was the stone lodged between the gallbladder and the main bile tube which allowed fluid to freely flow to the intestine.
Because of the specific surgeon I had I can drive as long as I’m not taking pain medication, and don’t have to wait for my 2 week checkup to drive.
We had the opportunity to pray for a couple people while in the hospital, one who had cancer and his gallbladder removed as well. We are keeping him in our prayers.
We have finally gotten our place to the point where we can have guests. It needs a little more varnish on the walls and to finish the trim, but I’ll do that as soon as the doctor says that I can. I have a meeting with the doctor on the 19th and should know then when I’m allowed to go back to work. We hope to have our first dinner guests over this week and Lord willing begin our house meetings.
As God lays us on your heart this month please pray for provisions, pray that we can clearly share Jesus with boldness, clarity and love so that the hearers will hear, understand and be changed. Please pray for God’s direction in all we do and for open doors.
A praise report, we were able to get a family vehicle that could legally carry the family when we travel together locally. Thank you for praying, it really makes a difference, we can’t do what we do without your prayers and support.
Blessings in Jesus Christ our Lord.

About Jesse & Becki Brattrud
It is our vision and focus to plant churches and to establish a base that can accommodate other missionaries and/ or those who are being raised up for ministry
Our plan is to attend language school and while attending language school we will explore rural Brazil, west and southwest Brazil specifically, the farming communities and small towns. Our next step would be to find the area with the most need, those little red or orange dots on the map that signify less than 2% Christian. Once we find that location then we will begin to search for a central location around the greatest need to establish a base. Once we graduate language school we want to quickly and smoothly transition to the new location, walk around the villages praying and helping anyone out that we see needs and will accept it. Then invite them and their families to our place for supper serve them Jesus. Plant a church, begin street preaching in the town, raise up leaders that are capable of reproducing Christ in others and spreading the gospel. Turn the church over to the people and establish a pastor. Oversee the local pastor and repeat. The goal will be to plant as many growing, self sustaining Christ-centered churches as by Gods grace and power that we are able. To bring blessings to the communities by Acts 3:26 “When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
