Brian & Stephanie Forbes November 2020 - Fire International

THE WORKSHOP

The 21st annual mission conference has come to a close. This year felt so smooth and peaceful. It was like the heavens were open over all. We stayed with some friends that just purchased a house this summer.  They had missionaries over for a campfire complete with s’mores! It is a messy little sandwich that kids love.  It was a wonderful time of fellowship with other missionaries.

Many of us at the FIRE-International Missions Conference went to the Brownsville Revival in the late 1990s. When we pray together it is like being home. The tangible presents of God comes in a way that feels so natural and real. I really appreciate the FI Board  and staff praying with us every year at the last meeting when conference is over.

We invited all the FI missionaries to our house (The Workshop) to stay in our guest level. We told them that we have not done the carpet and tile work yet but the rooms now have doors and the bathroom is functional. I believe that the need to get away with God is so important that we need to start having guests as their schedule will allow.

A couple missionaries have been on my mind and I was able to spend time with them in person and not just on the phone. One missionary was able to drop by The Workshop on their way back to Tennessee. I loved having her insight on our plans for the guest level. She is smart and creative and helped us see in a different perspective.

We carried the Guatemala flag this year in the flag precession on Sunday morning. Our missionary in Guatemala was not able to be there this year. We sent him pictures and love.

It seems that most years Stephanie and I are at the conference for her birthday. This year we arrived back home before it. We had friends over and a campfire. S’mores and cookie cake were the celebratory confections. It was so good to have people over. Many have been with us through the journey and loved to see the work we have been able to do in the last year. It was encouraging to see it through the eyes of others. I can only see how much there is to do not what has been done.

Pray for The Workshop.

We continue to reach out by phone to communicate with ministers God has set in our hearts. It is not the same as seeing people in person. Pray for wisdom and insight moving forward on our house as we serve God here in North Carolina at The Workshop.
I am now receiving a strong intravenous drug for my digestive distress. Treatments will continue through next year and will have an impact on our finances.

We thank God for each one of you, your prayers and your support in our new adventure of bringing ministers into our home. Pray as we finish the guest area of our home.

The workshop I joke that the New Year is just another day. I say the same thing about my December birthday. God gave us the sun and moon to enable us to mark time and set celebrations so we may remember His great works on the earth. The new year is a time to look back...

The workshop  It was a pleasure to get to know the students when I taught at FIRE School of Ministry years ago. A few have stayed in the area. One of my former students came to The Workshop to help out for a day. With his help, we accomplished some 2-person tasks...

About Brian & Stephanie Forbes

“We fix broken hearts and parts.”

We come alongside ministries providing practical solutions to everyday problems. This builds a trust between us that enables those in ministry to openly communicate what is in their hearts. We see freedom come as Jesus guides us in healing lives. These times of refreshing are great morale boosters offering the edge needed to effectively minister.
