Dear family and friends, October 2020
Greetings from Ukraine! Happy Fall! The leaves are changing, the temps are falling, and we are waiting for the government to turn on the heat once again! This is just life in Ukraine!
У ног Царя – At the feet of the King – Women’s Conference: Our annual women’s conference this year was absolutely wonderful! Of course, thanks to the pandemic, we held the conference at our Church instead of the hotel, we had to organize the meal, and not as many ladies attended…but despite the extra hassle we were truly blessed by this conference. First, everyone was simply thankful that we could gather together as the government keeps threatening to close down churches again soon because of covid-19. Second, because of the state of the world we live in there was an exceptional amount of hunger and expectation from all the ladies who attended. The Lord touched us powerfully through the four different messages, worship time, and just fellowship together. I shared the word, but I myself also left filled-up and encouraged! One sister from another church came to me in tears saying this day was meant just for her, life has been so hard and God spoke directly to her heart, it was just what she needed! That wasn’t the only testimony like this, many ladies similarly shared how they so needed this conference and time with the Lord just to keep going! It was a wonderful day and I’m so thankful for this special time and every lady who attended!
A word of encouragement: There were many ladies who shared after the conference how they so needed this time with the Lord, just so they could keep going! I believe that sentiment is one that many of us around the world can relate to right now. It’s very trying living in a pandemic, through crazy politics, social unrest, and financial uncertainty. But there is a song that I keep hearing in my heart called “My Testimony” by Elevation worship and the lyrics say “If I’m not dead, then You’re not done; greater things are still to come!” That is the truth my friends! Even if you aren’t able to gather at your church, or attend a conference and be encouraged, remember that God is not done! The more chaotic the world is, the more opportunity there is for the Lord Jesus to show Himself glorious! We as the Bride of Christ are here to be victorious and shine brightly in this world of darkness. Just like David said in Psalm 37, he has never once seen the righteous forsaken! Let us hold firm to our faith, even if it’s just a mustard seed, and worship the Lord wherever you are, focus on Him, let Him encourage your heart right now! The God who works miracles is still alive and well! No situation is impossible for Him! He is faithful to you to the very end! God’s not done yet!
Smila: I was able to make another trip to Smila and minister with Pastors Dennis and Oksana in both their church and one of their daughter churches in a village near Smila. The village church was planted a year ago and there were so many people at the service! We had such a wonderful time of worship and the Word! The village worship leader didn’t sing like I’m used to hearing at our churches, but it was from such a pure heart, I was blessed. I spent time talking with two Babushkas after the service, they couldn’t figure out why I spoke with such a funny accent! It was both their first time at church and I spent some time praying for them. One thing that made me rejoice during this trip was simply seeing how much better the roads are! Finally, after seventeen years of my being in Ukraine I’m seeing them fix these roads for the first time! It really makes me so thankful!
Prayer & Praise———————————————————————————————————————
Praise – After six months the US embassy finally reopened in Kyiv and I was able to renew my American passport!
Pray for our Church body for healing and miracles! There are many who have become sick over the last few months and are desperately in need of healing!
Pray for all the college students we interact with, that they would receive Jesus!
Pray for Covid-19 numbers to drop in Ukraine and for us to be able to return to the special needs homes! I miss those ladies at Greenfield so much!!
Pray for myself and our leadership team to be encouraged, for health, safety, and rest!
For those in Smila for health, healing, and financial provision!
Dormitories: We have been busy ministering at four different college dormitories. I also have an answer to prayer, a new team member named Sveta! It’s been a breath of fresh air for us to have someone new helping us! This past week we had some breakthroughs, there were two dorms where it was very hard to keep the students attention and this past week everything changed! They were suddenly attentive, participated, and spent time talking with us afterwards. Even more of the students have begun coming to our Wednesday night services! It’s so wonderful! One guy, Vanya, came for the first time last night to church and he talked to me for a long time afterwards telling me he’s never been to anything like this before and that he can’t wait to come back again.
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 I pray this prayer for you today and do pray for you often! I’m constantly grateful for all the faithful support I receive and how I am able to fulfill God’s calling on my life because of your partnership with me! Be blessed of the Lord!
God bless you! Your missionary to Ukraine,
