Dear Friends and Family,                                                                July- Sept 2020

I pray you are in good health and leaning into to God’s grace day by day, as we learn to trust Him in all things.  He is faithful.

Finding Hope

There is absolutely nothing about the difficulties we face that surprises God.  He knew what you and I would be facing today. He is more than able to give us all I need to walk through and overcome any circumstances we face.  There are so many uncertainities in the world today, but I serve a God who knows the beginning and the end.  It is so easy to focus on the world issues giving way to fear and anxiety that steals our hope and joy.  I have to continually remind myself to keep my eyes on Him and my hope in all He is able to do through these times.  While, in so many ways the darkness, chaos, strife seems to increase, I also see light rising.  Times are ripe for believers to pray and usher in a revival unlike any we have seen in history that will transforms cities, states and nations.  I will continue to contend for God to have his way in our hearts, lives and nations.  I have had more time to pray these last months under quarentine and much of my focus is on the two nations I call home, USA and the Philippines.

Praising God for the Blessings:

-Hope Care recieved 3 new children and 2 newborn babies

-Hope House has 2 new girls

-HFAC staff and children have been in good health

-Hope Care Learning Center is almost ready

-Construction continues for a new Hope Care Children’s Home

-God provided a reliable car that can handle the muddy unpaved road to HFAC

Visayan Language Lessons

I have been using my “stay at home” quarentine season to focused on language lessons again.  Nathan Rullen, a FIRE School of Ministry graduate, has been coming to my home to teach me.   Our lessons are now on hold since the recent birth of his first child.

Restoring the Foundations Ministry

In August, Tata and I were able to begin doing Restoring the Foundations Ministry in my home. It has been so rewarding to watch the Holy Spirit bring freedom and inner healing.  We have been busy, yet still have a list of those waiting for help to overcome issues they face.  I was able to get Tata signed up for some on-line RTF training.  I hope to also get further training online.

Favor to visit Samal Island

The Philippines is still under many COVID-19 restrictions.  Masks with face shields are not optional in most places.  Children under 21 years of age and those over 59 are supposed to stay home.  There are travel restictions to certain areas like Samal Island. I am so thankful I was finally able to get a special workers pass in late July that allows me to travel to HFAC on Samal Island.  This was God’s favor that allowed me to get this permit after being initially denied. When I arrived at HFAC, I was greeted with many hugs, tears of joy and little crafts the children made for me. I had missed them all so much, after being unable to come for 4 1/2 months. We are working on getting Regine’s permit to travel now.

Moving to Samal Island

They are preparing a room for me in the main ministry building at Hope for All Children.  I will live with 6-8 young women caregivers and all of our Hope Care (orphanage) children. Much of my time will be focused on the young women who serve there.  Regine will also be coming to help cook for them.  I am so happy to be able to live in the HFAC community soon.  Please, pray for continued favor and no new quarantine restrictions to hinder our move the end of Oct.

Goodbye Nathan

We honored and said goodbye to Nathan Bailey, son of our HFAC directors, as he left for college in the USA.  Nathan was 2 years old when his parents first moved to the Philippines.  He has been a Godly example and loving “Kuya” (big brother) to his siblings and all the HFAC children. The children and staff prepared special songs and gifts for him.  I look forward to hearing what God will do with this amazing young man of God. Please pray for Nathan’s transition to USA and his family here.

Thank you for your faithful support and prayers. These prayers have carried me through the challenges of this year. How can I pray for you? Please email me your prayer requests.

Blessings,
