Greetings, Friends! How quickly summer has turned into Autumn! Mornings are brisk, leaves are beginning to fall and apples are ready to be picked! I love the change of seasons.
I am excited to report that a much longed for season has finally arrived! Nigeria opened her borders on September 5th and I have a flight booked for September 26th. My negative COVID test is in hand within the 4 day window allowed by the Nigerian Government and, God willing, by the time you are reading this I should be back in Jebba! I am so very grateful to God and thankful for all of you who have partnered with me to make this vision a reality! Your faithfulness has touched and encouraged my heart and has allowed ministry in Nigeria to continue even when I was held here by circumstances outside of my control. Thank you.
Once in Nigeria I will be required to self-isolate for 7 days and take a repeat COVID test. Once those results are in and negative, I will be free to move about as usual. It takes me about that long to get over jet lag anyhow, so staying in and resting up from the trip is not a bad thing!
Schools are still closed, but it is a great time to visit the proprietors of Jebba’s many private schools to offer them an introduction to our successful reading program and an opportunity for free teacher training sessions for those who are interested. I am excited at the thought of getting back to work and of walking through new open doors for ministry.
I would love to hear from you via email so that we can connect and pray for one another at email@example.com It is always lovely to hear from friends at home!
As always, thank you for your prayers and support during these difficult times. Nigeria is still having severe difficulties, with food prices practically doubling and many folks out of work and/or not receiving their salaries. Fuel and electricity costs have also gone up. Please continue to pray and give as the Lord leads. He is our provision. I thank God for all of you and commit to pray for you, both in general and specifically if you email me with your prayer needs.
God Bless You As We Reach Nigeria Together!
