This has been an exciting month.
Last week we attended the Ephesus Church of God in Mccory Arkansas, and we are invited to share, on September 6. Brother Donny Jones is the pastor.
It has been real good working with Bartley, I am teaching him a trade with construction as well as answering his spiritual questions and showing him how I walk out my faith. He is real hungry and wants to understand nearly everything, it is good for me as well because it helps me to articulate what and why I believe, with my faith.
Becki is working with several widows in town and just met a new one the other night that invited her to come back with food. That is all the open door that Becki needs. She will be back, now she has no less than 4 ladies that she visits regularly
One of the ladies she visits I do maintenance for and mow her lawn for nothing, I tell her that I don’t just want to tell her that Jesus loves her but I want to show her as well. She tears up nearly every time. While I mow, Becki has church with her, she has been hurt by the church and won’t go into a church building but she will allow us to speak into her life. Her kids, who are in their late 40’s have finally invited us to spend time with them.
The Metheodist church that we have been attending semi regularly when we are not visiting other churches or fellowshipping with Bartley’s family, had an outreach feeding the community, we fed 90 meals in a town that in 2010 had 105 people in it, that is how we met the new lady that Becki is beginning to visit, we delivered the food to the widows that could not get out by themselves easily or to the people who didn’t want to go to a church for a meal.
At the beginning of August, Becki’s mom, Dorothy, came to stay with us, she is a blessing and is helping us to reach out to this community, she has begun to travel with one of the widows and helps with groceries, she can minister to them in a way that Becki can not since she lost her husband 10 years ago and is a widow herself.
As we are on your hearts and minds, please pray that we can get the material to finish the kitchen / living room area of the house so we can begin to have guests in the house, please pray for open doors with more people to share Jesus with, and please join my family as we pray for Mr Larry, he is my fathers age and I want to see him in heaven some day, he needs Jesus. Please pray for Becki as she visits the ladies in the community that she has boldness, wisdom, and clarity as she shares Jesus with them and their families. Please join us as we pray for another vehicle, the right vehicle so we can be traveling together while Grandma is here, and so Becki can do what needs to be done while I am working.
Thank you for all your prayers and support, we cant do what we do without you, we appreciate each and everyone of you very much.
Blessings in Christ

About Jesse & Becki Brattrud
It is our vision and focus to plant churches and to establish a base that can accommodate other missionaries and/ or those who are being raised up for ministry
Our plan is to attend language school and while attending language school we will explore rural Brazil, west and southwest Brazil specifically, the farming communities and small towns. Our next step would be to find the area with the most need, those little red or orange dots on the map that signify less than 2% Christian. Once we find that location then we will begin to search for a central location around the greatest need to establish a base. Once we graduate language school we want to quickly and smoothly transition to the new location, walk around the villages praying and helping anyone out that we see needs and will accept it. Then invite them and their families to our place for supper serve them Jesus. Plant a church, begin street preaching in the town, raise up leaders that are capable of reproducing Christ in others and spreading the gospel. Turn the church over to the people and establish a pastor. Oversee the local pastor and repeat. The goal will be to plant as many growing, self sustaining Christ-centered churches as by Gods grace and power that we are able. To bring blessings to the communities by Acts 3:26 “When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
