We had a friend and former student of mine from my time teaching at Fire School of Ministry work with us for a day. We purchased used flooring for $75.00 and it nearly covered the entire floor of the shop outbuilding. We covered the rest of the floor with plywood. The next step is to get the shop wired and insulated.
We had another visitor from Fire International come to spend a couple days. I showed her some projects I have been working on. We got out the parts I scavenged from old microwaves and spent a couple hours burning wood. It is a process called Lichtenberg wood burning. She was mesmerized. This reinforced the notion of making the outbuilding into a workshop open to ministry leaders. It is a time to build relationship and feel connected.
The replacement of the house roof is finally underway. The house was not lived in between the start of construction in 2004 and our purchase. During that time there were two major hailstorms. We decided on a lifetime metal roof. We believe we will not have hail issues into the future.
I made lunch for the roofers every day. Day One I smoked 3 large pork shoulders. Other days I served hot dogs and other easy foods. I wanted to show hospitality and the Love of Jesus. I appreciate the amount of work this took to accomplish.
Pray for The Workshop.
We thank God for each one of you, your prayers and your support in our new adventure of bringing ministers into our home. Pray as we finish the guest area of our home.
