The workshop

It is starting to heat up in the South. We continue with the outdoor work before we have the 90 degree days of late summer. We removed the small trees and burned them. A friend had a method to separate the wood from the dirt piles. Finally we can smooth out the yard and plant grass seed, ending erosion. Our flowers bloomed and are providing a feast for the hummingbirds.
We are getting a new roof soon. We decided to remove the 14 skylights. We carefully removed the tunnels, insulated, and covered the holes with sheetrock. I purchased a half-scaffold which made the work easier. I am already noticing the A/C doesn’t run as often with the skylights removed.
My cousin Brandon came to help install the shower in our bathroom. It was on backorder since April. We are excited to have a working bathroom on the same floor as our bedroom. After the roof is installed and paid for we hope to hire a dry waller to float and tape the skylights and the shower. We can use the bathroom until then. We have a few more tasks in the guest area to complete before we can lay flooring.

I had a heart scare during this last month. While clearing bush I had shortness of breath and chest pain with shaking and fatigue. My primary care doctor sent me to a specialist. Long story short I had a heart catheterization. There was no indication of blockage anywhere. The physician said my heart is perfect! I suspect that the medication I have been on for my digestive issue to be the cause. I finally have a diagnosis for my digestive issue – Inflammatory Bowel Disease – and have started a medication that should heal the trouble.

Pray for The Workshop.
Praise God my heart is perfect. We are making preparations to visit my mother after her hospitalization. She is doing well and is still recovering with some home help and a therapist coming a couple times a week. Pray for wisdom, healing and insight, moving forward on our house, as we serve God here in North Carolina at The Workshop.

We thank God for each one of you, your prayers and your support in our new adventure of bringing ministers into our home. Pray as we finish the guest area of our home.

The workshop I joke that the New Year is just another day. I say the same thing about my December birthday. God gave us the sun and moon to enable us to mark time and set celebrations so we may remember His great works on the earth. The new year is a time to look back...

THE WORKSHOP   The 21st annual mission conference has come to a close. This year felt so smooth and peaceful. It was like the heavens were open over all. We stayed with some friends that just purchased a house this summer.  They had missionaries over for a campfire...

About Brian & Stephanie Forbes

“We fix broken hearts and parts.”

We come alongside ministries providing practical solutions to everyday problems. This builds a trust between us that enables those in ministry to openly communicate what is in their hearts. We see freedom come as Jesus guides us in healing lives. These times of refreshing are great morale boosters offering the edge needed to effectively minister.
