With the U.S. in social distancing we focused on cheap, inefficient, manual labor – us! We spent many days cutting down pine trees and making huge brush piles. I am saving the trunks for future building projects. We dug a small flower garden and planted discount bulbs. We used rocks from a pile found in the cleared brush to edge the garden.
Stephanie thanks all who contacted her and supplied her with homemade masks. We ordered a shower stall just before the Covid-19 lock down. It took 4 months to arrive because of the manufacturing plant’s closing.
We had someone inspect the roof leak near the chimney. It turns out we need a new roof.
Stephanie likes to make a physical rendition of the vision she sees in prayer time, reflected in art projects, for the house. Both of us have a desire to decorate the house in meaningful ways to encourage those who will be coming for rest and restoration here at The Workshop.
Pray for The Workshop.
With opening medical appointments I have had two medical procedures done and we are waiting for the results. The rest and restoration is starting with me. God is revealing some potential heart problems. While clearing the brush I started to experience shaking, weakness and pains in my upper body. Perhaps the years of “deferred maintenance” while living in the motor home had taken a greater toll on my health than I realized. I feel like I suddenly experienced a shut-down of my own. Tasks that I could easily do when we purchased the house are now difficult and time consuming.
In Pennsylvania, my mother also experienced some medical issues. We are doing our best to support her recovery remotely so she may retain her independence.
Pray for wisdom, healing and insight as we move forward on our house as we serve God here in North Carolina at The Workshop.
We thank God for each one of you, your prayers and your support in our new adventure of bringing ministers into our home. Pray as we finish the guest area of our home.

“We fix broken hearts and parts.”
We come alongside ministries providing practical solutions to everyday problems. This builds a trust between us that enables those in ministry to openly communicate what is in their hearts. We see freedom come as Jesus guides us in healing lives. These times of refreshing are great morale boosters offering the edge needed to effectively minister.
