This has been quite the month, with the lockdowns, and church closings all over, it has brought our partnership development to a near stop. But God is faithful to use his people to accomplish his will no matter what is going on in the country.
As I mentioned last month I will share more about the property that God has given us. We were traveling all over looking for a place to wait out the covid virus, in the mean time we were being ran out of truck stops and unable to rent an rv lot long term on account of our age, our kids age, the age of our bus or because of our dog. We found a property on craigslist that was with in our budget, we still had a small savings from selling our equipment before leaving Alaska in October 2019, so after much prayer we purchased it. Now we have a place to wait out the covid that we can park our rv, actually hook up water, sewer and power to the rv. We are still living on the bus since the house that is on the property was in dire need of repair when we bought the property. Since then we have used our savings to get the house useable, it is almost livable, but not there yet. We will have to find a side job to earn the money to get the house livable. It is a nice location in a town that needs the gospel and the freedom that the Gospel brings.
Since we got to Hunter, Arkansas, Gods favor has been on us in nearly everything we have put our hands to. We have a good relationship with the mayor, the local head elder at the only church in town that is still open, we have built a relationship with many of the outcasts in the town, as well as some of the elders in the town. I am excited to see what God is going to do once this town opens up again. From what I can tell, only about 4 adults from town attend the church. There is a Methodist church that is currently closed for the pandemic as a result, we have not had the opportunity to meet the pastor there, but Lord willing we will before too long.
We had the opportunity to repair a tire on a local elderly lady in town recently and when she came to me and told me that she had no money to pay me, I told her that I did not ask for any that I wanted to share the love of Jesus with her in a practical way. She broke down in tears and began to cry. We have the opportunity to build a small awning for another local grandma over her trailer door to keep the rain out and hers stairs dry when it rains, in the next week or so. They will need to purchase the materials and we will provide the know how and labor to build her a quality awning . We are trying to fill the need to help with upkeep around the town and share Jesus as we work with and for the locals. We had another opportunity to purchase a couple pieces of steel from the yard of another person in town, it got some scrap out of their yard and we needed it to act as a base for our jack to level the new house. As we spoke with them we learned that they were in need of lightbulbs so we were able to give them some of our leftover bulbs. It was also another chance to share Jesus with them and see God move.
Becki has been doing lots of yard work, home schooling the kids, planting a garden, and has been doing great initiation the conversations with these ladies, most of which are widows, share who we are, share Jesus with them and to get me the chance to fix or build what they need. I am so proud of my wife, we make a great team.
We are hoping that after the covid is over we will be able to use the house as a place to meet with and serve the people of Hunter, and share Jesus with them over coffee or a meal.
So on with it, the best is yet to come, we are living in exciting times and it is exciting to see what God wants to do when you step out and let Him work through you.
If we are on your heard please pray for divine appointments to share Jesus with others, open doors to share our vision for Brazil, provision to do what God wants us to do while we are in Hunter weather a side job or supernatural provision to reach the people and prepare the house to receive guests. Please pray for open doors, and that we will be able to share the Truth of Jesus with boldness, clarity, and love so that others will hear, believe and be changed.
Thank you so much for your prayers and support, we can’t do what we do without you, we appreciate you so much .
Blessing in Christ,
Jesse and Becki Brattrud and family

About Jesse & Becki Brattrud
It is our vision and focus to plant churches and to establish a base that can accommodate other missionaries and/ or those who are being raised up for ministry
Our plan is to attend language school and while attending language school we will explore rural Brazil, west and southwest Brazil specifically, the farming communities and small towns. Our next step would be to find the area with the most need, those little red or orange dots on the map that signify less than 2% Christian. Once we find that location then we will begin to search for a central location around the greatest need to establish a base. Once we graduate language school we want to quickly and smoothly transition to the new location, walk around the villages praying and helping anyone out that we see needs and will accept it. Then invite them and their families to our place for supper serve them Jesus. Plant a church, begin street preaching in the town, raise up leaders that are capable of reproducing Christ in others and spreading the gospel. Turn the church over to the people and establish a pastor. Oversee the local pastor and repeat. The goal will be to plant as many growing, self sustaining Christ-centered churches as by Gods grace and power that we are able. To bring blessings to the communities by Acts 3:26 “When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
