Shalom Chaverim v’ Meshpoch,
Carol and I want to start this months newsletter with a great big shout out of ‘thanks’ to our very dear brothers and sisters at Vernant Park Baptist Church. Each year that we visit the states we are invited in to share with them about what the Lord has been doing through the Father’s Heart Ministry since we saw them last. We are also asked for a list of items that we either can not purchase or afford to purchase here in Israel. Then each year they selflessly purchase the items on the list, box them up, and ship them to us at a great expense to themselves. In the photos are just the first four boxes, with three still to come. Your generosity is overwhelming and greatly appreciated by us. We pray for a great return blessing upon those who gave, and those who pray for us. We also want to pray a blessing on the children of VPBC, because they are so very dear and near to our hearts.
Next, I would like to share with you a situation that came up which really touched my heart. I had been communicating with a dear brother in the Lord how Father God has been using me to maintain the three acres that our kehila (church) is situated on. He shared with me that landscaping the church property was not the reason they were supporting us. He said that we should be out on the streets sharing the gospel and winning souls to the Lord. I informed him that this wasn’t what we were called to do, and that openly sharing the Word on the streets of Israel on a tourist visa would either get us physically hurt, or we could be thrown out of the country. I told him that when the soup kitchen was open I did go out on the streets, as the Spirit led, and shared my testimony and the gospel. Seeing that the soup kitchen ran out of funds and is no longer operating at this time, I believe with all my heart that Father God is using me to maintain the kehila property, which is saving our church family a lot of money. Yeshua said that we are to love God and love our neighbor. I believe that we are doing exactly that. We are sharing the gospel by our actions not merely with words. Someone once said that “We should preach the gospel and only use words when absolutely necessary.” For some time this situation really laid heavy on my heart, so I sought counsel from elders in the organization that we are a part of. Here is a response that I got in return.
MISSIONARY MINISTRY OF HELPS – 2 Timothy 4:11, 1Corinthians 12:27-28, Romans 12:4-8,
This missionary has a servant’s heart and his vision and ministry is to help others be more successful in their ministries. Without this ministry, there would be no way to get the job done. They feel called and anointed to serve others. This ministry covers everything from secretary, school teachers, nurses, doctors, mechanics, pilots, printers, helps in the local church, book work, etc.
“When teaching this class for the last 17 years, I have referred to you and Carol as examples of this gift of helps.”
1 Corinthians 12:27-28, Romans 12:4-8, Matthew 23:11- “The greatest among you will be your servant.” NIV
The person with the spiritual gift of helps is someone who tends to work behind the scenes to get things done. The individual with this gift will often do his/her job joyfully and take the responsibilities off of others shoulders. They have a personality that is humble and have no problems sacrificing time and energy to do God’s work. They even have an ability to see what others need often before they even know they need it. People with this spiritual gift have a great attention to detail and tend to be very loyal, and they tend to go above and beyond in everything. They are often described as having a servant’s heart.
I tell you all this to clarify that we are servants. That is what is on our cards that we share with people. We are not evangelists, pastors, preachers or any of the other gifts of the Spirit. Sure when the Spirit opens a door for us to share, we are not fearful to share the good news found in the salvation purchased for us by our beloved Savior and Lord, Yeshua Ha-Messiah. Until that time we do what we believe with all our hearts we have been called to do….SERVE.
As with all of you, we have been under a government lock down now for over a month. Ours is stricter than yours, as some days we are not allowed to leave our homes. Most days we can go 100 meters from our homes, and to essential stores. As our kehila is only around the corner, I am fine, but Carol has been unable to go visit the elderly ladies or her special children of Abba’s Arms ministry. This has been very tough for her. She has done lots of cooking, and shared some with others. She has also been calling several families and checking to see if they are okay or in need of help.
Well I guess that’s all we have for now. May Father God bless you all, and may this Corona virus curse be crushed under the power of the blood of Yeshua. We love you all. Amen.
In His Service,
Frank & Carol

About Frank & Carol LaPorta
The Father’s Heart Ministry (FHM) started back in April 2004 and is totally based on God’s Word in Matthew 25:34-40. In short what these verses state is that we are to minister to the needy of the world. That is what Carol and I, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, are doing here in Israel.
