Dear Friends and Family, March 2020
Greetings from Ukraine! I’m very glad to be back home in my city of Krivoy Rog! Upon my return I was surprised to find it was already spring weather here – but I’m definitely enjoying it!
Evangelism: I was so excited to hit the streets with our brand new aprons! They say “God loves you!” In Ukrainian. It was hard not to notice us in our aprons, they were very effective. The phrase “God loves you!” is a simple message that can speak to those who don’t even stop to talk with us. We prayed with a number of people and I had some good conversations. One man came up to me and said, “You’re that American girl, right?” He remembered meeting me last summer during evangelism in a different location! This last time we went out on the streets was the day before a huge holiday here, International Women’s Day on March 8th, so we made sure to especially bless all the ladies we encountered! One woman we witnessed to was in tears and wanted to stay and stand by our table because of God’s presence! Praise God He is moving and touching lives all around us!
Smila: We took a trip to Smila to visit Pastors Dennis and Oksana. It was a not an easy journey over spring roads full of potholes, but I’m so glad we went. (When I say pothole, think of more holes than actual road!) We had an amazing time of fellowship! The Sunday service was full of the presence of the Lord! Plus, there was a very sweet moment when the church honored Juliana and I with flowers to thank us for all our years of friendship and ministering with them. I was touched! It was an unexpected surprise! I read in the news that the President promised to fix that road this year, I hope it happens fast as we love spending time in Smila!
Greenfield: What an absolute joy it was to see all the ladies again! We visited just a few days after their annual winter quarantine ended! They were so excited to see us and kept asking where we’d been! I answered countless times, we wanted to see you so badly, but we couldn’t come because of the quarantine! A few of the ladies smothered us with hugs and kisses! One girl, Rita, was crying because she was so happy I was back, it was really sweet. We sang our songs together and I told the story of Esther, a woman who influenced history, in honor of Women’s Day. After that we made cards for the holiday with beautiful flowers on them. To top everything off, we brought everyone, including the workers, a gift for Women’s Day. Candy and lotion! The workers were so surprised that we remembered them too. I can’t wait to return next week!
Dormitories; Our ministry to the dorm students continues to be effective and fruitful. There are currently only four dormitories that we can visit, due to some new dormitory directors not allowing us to come. But it’s okay, the places we can go we have a wonderful time of ministry. Right now there are only two of us ministers visiting the dorms, so we are praying for more Ukrainians to be able to join us.
Ministry: Beyond all that, I’ve been busy preaching at our church in Krivoy Rog, playing on the worship team, ministering to the ladies of our church, as well as hosting a weekly prayer and worship night at my apartment. That night of prayer has been so incredible! Sometimes there is only a handful of us that gather to pray and worship, but every single time it’s worth it! But it’s always worth it to seek the Lord, isn’t it?
- For more ministers! We need more help! Ukrainians have a hard time joining in ministry with their work schedules and transportation issues, but I believe God can make a way!
- For the Kingdom to continue to expand across Ukraine through new and creative ways to reach the lost.
- For salvation, healing, freedom and miracles wherever we minister!
- For Pastors Max and Amanda, as well as Pastors Dennis and Oksana, and Pastor Max and his wife Olga. Pray for encouragement, health, refreshing, finances, and wisdom!
- For there to be peace and not fear or chaos concerning the coronavirus, as many people here are concerned, although there is only one case in Ukraine! And for the virus to be eliminated.
- For me and my team for health, peace, safety, wisdom and refreshing!
- Praise Report – I have all of my residency documents done for this year! Hallelujah!
Thank you so much for your participation in spreading the Gospel in Ukraine! God Bless you abundantly!
