THE FIRE IS STILL BURNING IN GUADALAJARA, MEXICO!! We had the joy and privilege of leading a team from FIRE Church to Guadalajara, Mexico the last week of February. WOW!! What a time we had!! We were only in the city a week, but every day was filled with ministry and activity. We arrived on Friday in the early afternoon and went straight to visit Karen David at the Treasure House and the girls that she is walking through restoration from sex trafficking. The team had raised funds to purchase a swimming pool. It had arrived in a box!! The guys did a great job putting it together and in a very short period of time the girls were splashing and playing in it. What fun!!!
Saturday morning we went to a local church for a children’s feeding program. The team put on a skit of Daniel and the Lion’s Den and a team member taught them how to sign “Jesus Loves Me.” Then we fed the kids breakfast and enjoyed their adorable faces!
Saturday night we hit the streets and reached out with tattoo interpretations, dream interpretations, and spiritual cleansing. People are hungry for a spiritual touch. There were several true divine appointments that night.
Sunday was full with two church services. In the morning we were with Pastor Jorge Gutierrez in San Augustin. What a powerful morning!! Pastor Jorge’s son, Melqui, is an FI missionary and it was good to touch base with him and his family after the service. Sunday night we had the team in Huizachera FIRE Church with Pastor Armando. It was another powerful service where the team had the opportunity to share from their hearts and we ended up with a FIRE tunnel.
Monday and Tuesday night were classes at the School of the Supernatural. Both Josh and Tobi taught on these nights. There were powerful prayer times and Tuesday night ended with a crazy FIRE tunnel!!! First our team prayed for the students, then it switched and they prayed for us. God was certainly moving in that place!!!
Tuesday morning we had the joy of joining with a group of retired American intercessors who live in the area. Josh preached a message called “When Is it Time to Stop Dreaming” and we prayed over each person there. They let us know how encouraging this time was with them.
Wednesday we hit the streets again ministering to the homeless. We came with sandwiches, drinks, and free toothbrushes and toothpaste. We spent time chatting and praying with those that Andy and Karyn have built relationships with over the years they have been doing this. Tobi even had her shoes shined by one of the men there. Then Wednesday night we ministered in a drug rehab center that AW Jones, another FI missionary, ministers in regularly. We had several of our team share and then gave an altar call. Many were powerfully touched by the Lord.
Thursday was our day off which we spent shopping!!! We flew back on Friday afternoon. We want to thank Andy and Karyn Pricer for hosting us in their home and AW and Kathy Jones for feeding us and keeping us supplied with personal Diet Cokes and Dr. Peppers!!
Thank you all for praying and financially supporting us. Being on the field with our missionaries is such a gift for all of us. Taking people to visit them and to experience missionary life is also a gift. Because of you we are able to accomplish those things.
Below are some pictures from the trip!!!
Love in Jesus,
Josh & Tobi
