Dear Friends and Family,                                                                             Jan/Feb 2020

I pray you are in good health and overcoming day by day.  It has been a time of many challenges and blessings, as I continue to learn to trust God more.  I have temporary housing and reliable temporary transportation. Transition and an exciting opportunity are just ahead.  My God is faithful and I expect to see great things coming my way.

Overcoming fears

Earthquakes in Mindanao, Volcano eruptions in Luzon and threats of Cornavirus in Asia have so many people living in fear in the Philippines.  Each of these things are outside of our personal control and cause even unbelievers to cry out to God for help.  Prayers are powerful, even when we feel weak. Please pray for the Philippines and that many will seek God and find grace, peace and comfort in Him as we learn to trust Him more.

Just after writing my last newsletter, a team of engineers inspecting the house I lived in declared it unsafe and insisted “immediate evacuation.” God was faithful to keep us safe in the fast move to temporary housing He had provided even before I knew I needed it.

Ignite, Vigan House of Prayer

I returned to VHOP in northern Luzon this January, to be part of Ignite Internship.  This was a fruitful time with other church leaders from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. We had times of contending for God’s purposes in the Philippines and prayer walking the city. I can honestly say this was life changing for me as I personally encountered God’s love and a greater understanding of my identity in HIM.

This was the same week, Volcano Taal was covering large areas of southern Luzon with thick ash canceling flights for most of a week in Manila. More than 930,000 residents were evacuated. Many of these losing their homes, crops and livestock buried in ash. Some of the interns at VHOP were from these areas greatly effected.

ADOPTION

God has provided a forever family for one of our HFAC children.  I was blessed to be able to meet with his new family in Manila before they all went home to Italy. This family had already adopted a Filippino girl years ago, so he has a big sister.  Three more of our children have begun the process to qualify for adoption. We rejoice in these answered prayers.

ARISE Womens’ Conference

I have been given a magnificent opportunity to be part of a team ministering to 160 Central Asian ladies at a conference in Turkey early this March.  The goal of this conference is to inspire each one with the word of God, bring healing to the soul, and equip these amazing women with the resources to minister to others when they return home.  My cost for travel and to serve at this conference is $2500.  ARISE sponsors each Asian women who attends. $1000 sponsors one lady from the emerging church in one of these nations where Christians are illegal.  Would you consider helping me sponsor one of them? Please mark your contribuition “Arise/Sandra Carroll” and email me right away so I can arrive in Turkey with these funds. www.arisewomen.care

Your prayers and faithful support are making a difference. You are a valuable part of all that I do here.  Thank you for partnering with me in this work.  How can I pray for you? Please email your prayer requests.

Blessings,
