The beauty of this area is growing on me. How many of you have a view like this from your local hardware store? I have made many trips trying to figure out how to match the trim now in the house. We also had someone come and measure the guest area for carpeting.
We were unable to find the building materials that the previous owner used. We drove 1.5 hours away to a commercial building supply store on a snowy day. As we talked to the window specialist, the city shut down, schools and business closed, all over 2” of snow fall!
The window specialist had a file for our house, providing answers to some of the houses’ mysteries! He told us that the 7 triangle accent windows were installed improperly and we should remove them. In a recent driving rainstorm they leaked.
A pastor is coming every first Monday to use Guest Room #1 as a prayer retreat. We are so delighted. When we were at the rental property before moving here he used the cabin. We would like to be able to move forward on building a cabin here for use as a dedicated prayer spot.
Stephanie and I have found ourselves on the phone and video chatting with missionary and ministry leaders more frequently. It feels like a remote prayer support and counsel role. The ladies are using the technology of video chat and the men are texting and making phone calls.
My heart broke when I contacted a ministry leader who was on my heart and discovered he was in a tough spot with his family. I was thankful the Holy Spirit put him on my heart. I am trying to communicate daily right now. I suspect I will struggle with knowing how much to say in the future about God’s working in the lives of leaders as we continue to have a place in their lives. I also know that we are a part of the healing each person in our path will receive. Some will have breakthroughs with us and other will find breakthroughs in other places.
What’s in a name?
We are overwhelmed that a few of you have contacted us with name suggestions. Hearing voices from our past is encouraging. Stephanie asked if we have clarity yet. I replied that unless it is obvious and we are missing it, we don’t. I keep coming back to a name but am not sure that is it. Some of the suggestions hinted around that same theme. We will let you all know when we know.
We thank God for each one of you and your prayers and support in our new adventure of bringing ministers into our home. Pray as we finish the guest area of our home.
