Hello my friends.
This last month has been a very educational month.
We have been calling and emailing churches but have only received two responses, both telling us that they are not taking on any more missionaries. Well we know that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. So we are trying something different. We have begun knocking of the doors of the churches and sharing with the staff or pastors of the churches what God is doing in our lives and sharing our heart for evangelism and for Brazil. We have walked to literally over 100 hundred different churches by parking at an area Walmart and knocking on the door of all the area churches in about a 3 mile radius. We have had some long days. We have had some real great encounters with some great pastors, and other encounters have not been so inviting. But at least the pastors can put a face the the person sharing a vision with them. We even had one pastor go as far as to say that “I would rather open a door than an email”.
We like many churches have just finished a three week fast. We have had a real cool break through. For the last couple of months we have been trying to serve the churches that we have the opportunity to visit. And when we have offered our services we have not been getting any response. Now this is the second week in a row that we have had the honor to help in church outreach, and it is so amazing watching Becki and the kids thriving by doing what they were created to do, which is to serve those whom Christ died for. Last Tuesday we were able to help City Lights church in Bradenton Florida, with their feeding several hundred meals to their neighbor hood. We headed north and found ourselves in Brooksville Florida and visited two churches and they both mentioned an outreach to their town that feeds many people every week in several different locations called Joseph’s House. Again we were honored to be able to serve the team as they served their town by feeding many people. Did I mention that I am so proud of watching Becki and our children thrive as they have the opportunity to minister to the people with handing out food or praying for individuals. I even had the opportunity to present a short Gospel message and prayer before we handed up food at each location.
We are attending service nearly every Wednesday, Saturday night and Sunday meeting pastors and being ministered to by many great messages and by the Holy Spirit.
We are excited to see What God is going to do this next month. We are planning to begin moving north and west. We will be visiting one church that we attended last month just outside of Gainesville Florida, and will then make our way to Pensacola. After that we plan to go to Huntsville Alabama, then toward the Nashville are to visit a pastor that I went to college with, and then head to Monroe Louisiana. We have contacts in each of these towns and are hoping to have some great new connections made with individuals as well as churches while we are in each of these areas.
We are also planning a short visit with the family that visited us last month and see how we can be a blessing to them for a day or two before we begin to work our way our of Florida.
If Jesus lays us on your heart throughout the month would you :
Please pray that we can be more strategic with where we go and the churches that we contact, please pray that we find those that God is calling to partner with us in what we are doing, please pray that we will be able to serve the churches more as we travel even if it is for a single day or night. And please pray for open doors in the right churches as well as with the people that we have the opportunity to share with.
Thank you all so much for your prayers and support both moral and financial, it makes all of the difference, and we really cant express what it means to us when we receive an encouraging word from one of you.
Blessings in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Hello all, God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good. The neighbors down the street, Ray and Kim, when we first met them last summer they would only pier through the crack in their door to talk with us. And since then Becki has brought them meals, and...
Hello all, I pray that you all have had a great start to a new year. This one thing I know is that we serve a great Great God and He is on the throne. I was able to heal up from last month’s surgery and only suffer from occasional slight pain around my new scars. ...
About Jesse & Becki Brattrud
It is our vision and focus to plant churches and to establish a base that can accommodate other missionaries and/ or those who are being raised up for ministry
Our plan is to attend language school and while attending language school we will explore rural Brazil, west and southwest Brazil specifically, the farming communities and small towns. Our next step would be to find the area with the most need, those little red or orange dots on the map that signify less than 2% Christian. Once we find that location then we will begin to search for a central location around the greatest need to establish a base. Once we graduate language school we want to quickly and smoothly transition to the new location, walk around the villages praying and helping anyone out that we see needs and will accept it. Then invite them and their families to our place for supper serve them Jesus. Plant a church, begin street preaching in the town, raise up leaders that are capable of reproducing Christ in others and spreading the gospel. Turn the church over to the people and establish a pastor. Oversee the local pastor and repeat. The goal will be to plant as many growing, self sustaining Christ-centered churches as by Gods grace and power that we are able. To bring blessings to the communities by Acts 3:26 “When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
