We have had quite the adventurous month. Since Abigail, our middle daughter, gave her life to Jesus earlier, we took her to Myrtle beach and baptized her in the ocean. God must have figured that I needed to be baptized again and sent a big wave that dunked us both, I nearly lost my glasses but Zeruiah caught them in the surf. While there we visited a Brazilian church, Pastor Silva and the rest of the congregation were great.
From there we went to Fort Mills SC and shared at Touch Point Church. It was refreshing talking with Pastor Scott, Brandon and Kasey and the rest of the church.
Next we headed to St Augustine Florida and spent about a week there. We got to know the folks at Brazilian connection church Pastor Mari and Jose invited us to their Christmas service and celebration.
Since we had no churches scheduled to be at for Christmas Day we headed for the woods of Ocala National Forrest. But God is faithful, he allowed us to continue our tradition of spending Christmas with complete strangers when Eric and Wendy Catman saw a picture of our bus that someone from St Augustine posted on facebook and contacted us because of the sticker of our information that we put on the window of our bus. They drove around 70 miles just to meet us. They are believers that are just beginning to step out for Jesus. We spent around four hours with them and encouraging them. It is great to be at the right place at the right time wether in the middle of nowhere of the middle of the city, God will use you where ever you are. We decided that it was time to move on when we came across a pack of 5 wild dogs.
We visited Cornerstone Assembly of God in Williston Fl, we enjoyed meeting Pastor Richard and his wife Dee Dee. I think that we will visit them again on our way north when we leave Florida.
We have had the opportunity to share both the Gospel and our vision with many along our journey so far, it has been very exciting.
We are currently just outside of Bradenton Florida, we are hoping that we will have a better response from churches in January than we did in December, we are contacting churches in this area and trying to schedule speaking engagements. Please pray for both favor with the pastors and to be able to share boldly and clearly the vision that God has given us and that we will be used to spark a flame for evangelism and discipleship in the churches that we share with, as well as the people we meet as we travel.
Please pray that we can bring the gospel with boldness, clarity, and the love that others can receive. Please pray for our partnership development to gain momentum. I cut myself with a hatchet and had to give myself stitches just above my knee on New Year’s Day, please pray for quick healing and no complications in the process, also everyone has been sick, please pray for not just to be healed but to stay healed.
Thank you to everyone who has partnered with us, your prayers make a huge difference.
We are very excited to see what God is going to do in our lives and the lives of the people we meet in this new year of 2020. The best is yet to come.
Thank you again!
Blessings in Christ,
Jesse and Becki Brattrud and Family
Hello all, Wow is all I have to say. Wow! It has been quite a month of March. It started off with some good momentum and we were able to share in a couple churches during the first half of the month, we met with Pastor Luiz, a Brazilian pastor pastoring in an...
Hello everyone, I can not believe how fast the month has gone. We have been in Brooksville Florida, spent a couple days in Ocala, into High Springs, to Bristol, Tallahassee, Marianna, and are currently just outside of Quincy Florida. After leaving Brooksville at the...
Hello my friends. This last month has been a very educational month. We have been calling and emailing churches but have only received two responses, both telling us that they are not taking on any more missionaries. Well we know that the definition of insanity is...
About Jesse & Becki Brattrud
It is our vision and focus to plant churches and to establish a base that can accommodate other missionaries and/ or those who are being raised up for ministry
Our plan is to attend language school and while attending language school we will explore rural Brazil, west and southwest Brazil specifically, the farming communities and small towns. Our next step would be to find the area with the most need, those little red or orange dots on the map that signify less than 2% Christian. Once we find that location then we will begin to search for a central location around the greatest need to establish a base. Once we graduate language school we want to quickly and smoothly transition to the new location, walk around the villages praying and helping anyone out that we see needs and will accept it. Then invite them and their families to our place for supper serve them Jesus. Plant a church, begin street preaching in the town, raise up leaders that are capable of reproducing Christ in others and spreading the gospel. Turn the church over to the people and establish a pastor. Oversee the local pastor and repeat. The goal will be to plant as many growing, self sustaining Christ-centered churches as by Gods grace and power that we are able. To bring blessings to the communities by Acts 3:26 “When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
