I always look forward to our annual mission conference. This year was our 20th conference. It is a time to be filled with the Spirit afresh with others who had  experienced revival. Long-time friends came this year. Past leaders spoke and prayed with us.

I love being with other missionaries from FIRE. The more evangelistic ones come back with stories of miracles and healings. One missionary to Mexico has driven older questionable Suburbans for almost 20 years. This year he showed up with a fairly new, beautiful Suburban. He is relieved to finally have a reliable vehicle.

Stephanie and I meet every year with single missionary women during conference. We get updates and speak into each others’ lives. It is hard for our single women serving in missions, but God has graced them with the ability.

Stephanie arrived a couple days after I got to conference. She pulled into a parking spot. Later, when she left, she had no brakes at all. The brake lines rusted through! A couple men from the Fire Church took care of the repair. It was a miracle they were able to find a complete brake line kit. They worked for 12 hours, missing a  service, to repair our truck.

After the conference ended, our mission director came to visit us. The Peters take off the week after conference to refresh themselves in the mountains. We were blessed to have them come to our house and pray with us. They got to see first hand our plans for the new house.

Stephanie loves to have people over. For her birthday I made my cookie recipe into a large cookie to serve as her birthday cake.

Primary (financial) needs to start hosting:

We see these two items as the greatest hindrance to begin having ministers come and be served:

– Neither of the bathrooms are complete. We use the toilet in one and the shower in the other!

– There is no flooring on the bedroom level.

Praise…

  • Someone fixed our truck’s brakes.
  • Our mission director came for a visit.
  • Missionaries are asking when the house will be ready.

Prayer…

  • Our mission income has been slowly reducing.
  • Construction decisions (might need shingles.)
  • Missionaries are asking when the house will be ready.

About Brian & Stephanie Forbes

“We fix broken hearts and parts.”

We come alongside ministries providing practical solutions to everyday problems. This builds a trust between us that enables those in ministry to openly communicate what is in their hearts. We see freedom come as Jesus guides us in healing lives. These times of refreshing are great morale boosters offering the edge needed to effectively minister.
