“Please pray,” she said in a frantic message. “The police entered my apartment and took my passport!” Imagine being a single female living in a foreign communist country and this happening to you – where a passport is likely your most valuable possession! For FI Asia missionary, Angelita, (pictured above with the guitar) that’s exactly what happened. And being at “home” was no longer safe. “Will they return??”
In Vietnam, it’s illegal for foreign missionaries to proselytize or perform religious activities. But Jesus is faithful to cover His own! For days, her landlord visited the police station, knowing a bribe may be the only solution. Just days before her visa expired, her passport was finally released. Praise God!! Angelita stays now in temporary housing, trying to stay under the radar from the police and government officers. Your prayers for Angelita in Vietnam, and all other FI Asia workers are greatly appreciated! Let’s ask in faith for lives to be touched, communities changed, and nations to turn to Jesus!
Thank you for praying and standing with us each month! Sometimes our months overflow, like this one did, with: small groups, evangelism, RTF ministry sessions, discipleship, teaching on missions, bookkeeping, event planning, mobilizing the Church to send/support workers, counseling, and so much more! Not even the smallest impact we have in an individual’s life would happen without your faithful partnership. FIRE International Asia would never exist if it wasn’t for believers like you! We pray for you, so please don’t hesitate to reach out and share any requests you may have.
