Greetings from our home in Mexico. It is so good to be back in Taco Land, although we did enjoy our food while traveling abroad. I did try a Mexican pancake at one of Netherlands famous pancake houses. They still have some improvements to make but it was good. But we didn’t go for the food, rather to spend time with some of the most incredible people ever.
The European Tour
As mentioned in last month’s newsletter, we had been invited to teach in the week long Fire School Holland Summer school. Taking advantage of our first trip ever to Europe we decided to get in as much sightseeing as possible during our stay.
But first the summer school. Many of the students were members of Fire Church Holland and they brought their whole family with them to the 19th century monastery/retreat center. It was an amazing place with many private rooms making the week long stay out in the country very manageable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner always provided plenty of coffee, bread, and chocolate sprinkles. Karyn was our worship leader for the week and along with her local musicians, they lead us into the presence of the Lord 22 times. Karyn is amazing and I could actually sit and listen to her sing all day long. I split the teaching times with Eric Miller, another FIRE missionary and friend serving the Lord in the Philippines. We had some incredible times of worship, teaching, and encounters with heaven. The theme for the week was the Fire that never sleeps. Frank Pot, Eric, and myself are all graduates of the Brownsville Revival and the DNA of revival fire burns deep in our being. It was a joy and an honor to come alongside these men of God and be a part of sparking that Fire once again in the hearts of the students.
From the Netherlands we traveled over to England with the first stop in London. We took in many of the sites that are popular in the area before heading out to Crewe by train. Meeting us at the train station was another fellow Fire missionary, Steve Christner. Steve and his family are part of a thriving church in Crewe that is pastored by Phil and Emma Howell, and you guessed it, more Fire missionaries. After service on Sunday they treated us to a church potluck dinner and the opportunity to meet many of their incredible people.
Steve and Glenda took us out to see some castles and gardens the following day in Northern Wales. The sites are breathtaking and simply fascinating to think kings and queens were in these same places, defending cities and establishing kingdoms. Later in the week we took a ferry over to Ireland and finished up the tour a few days later as we flew back home to Guadalajara. Wow what a whirlwind of activities! It was truly an honor to be a part of the different ministries represented across the pond.
I failed to mention it in last month’s newsletter, but on August 13, we celebrated 20 years of mission life in Mexico. It has been a crazy ride for the most part but we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Lately I have been reading through some of our early newsletters from years back and I’m reminded not only of the Lord’s faithfulness to us but of yours as well. You all are a huge part of everything we have done here. Your faithful praying and giving has made it possible. Thank you for sowing into us and our ministry.
We are heading up to the States in Oct and Nov and would love to see as many of you as possible. Love you all so much. Blessings,
Andy & Karyn
