It has been quite the month this month. I have had the opportunity to preach, to share the gospel with 2 Brazilian couples traveling together, and participated in the Fairbanks golden days parade (we all wore red to symbolize the blood of Jesus and unity within the church). We had the opportunity to share the gospel with many people and installed a sand point well that got installed too close to the permafrost and immediately froze up. We are currently working installing a septic system, and we may have a family that is willing to watch our place and continue the business.
We have so much to be excited about and so much to pray about. Mostly the details of leasing our business and the right time to begin to travel and focus on partnership development full time, sharing our vision for the church and Brazil, and build up our support base. If all goes well we are prospectively looking at sometime between October 1 and January 1 to begin our travels.
(Our reasoning for October 1 is that we get PFD’s as Alaskan residents and if we get the full amount that the state is discussing it would provide nearly 6 months living expenses that would give us a huge jump with partnership development and if we get the smallest amount then that would cover living expenses for almost 2 months, and our reasoning for January 1 is so we can have a clean cut off date for tax purposes). We will live on our income and savings until the end of 2019 and begin living off our support base that we have but after our personal funds run out.
Please pray for work or other financial provisions. We will need $6100 just for projects that need to be finished before we begin traveling. This includes $1800 for a tune up, adding a new battery bank, adding more storage, and refinishing the table on the bus, $2200 for full coverage insurance for the bus, $1500 to finish our water and septic systems on our property, and $500 to replace the steering gear box on our vehicle.
We will need this amount above and beyond living expenses so we won’t have to tap into our PFD’s come October, and begin traveling as soon as possible.
Pray that we make the right decisions in how to lease our property and business. The prospective leasers just met with us a second time and now we need wisdom in writing up the agreement and for them to be able to get all their necessary insurance and licensing for the business.
Please pray that we can bring the gospel with boldness, clarity, and the love that others can receive. Please pray for our partnership development to gain momentum. Also, pray for us to make the right business decisions for ur property while we are trying to sell it or lease it.
Thank you to everyone who has partnered with us, your prayers make a huge difference. Thank you.
Blessings in Christ,
Jesse and Becki Brattrud and Family
Hello all, It has been an eventful month. We have began teaching a marriage / discipleship class at Ephesus church of God in Mccory Arkansas, (we have had 2 classes now), and an “ask me anything” Bible study Tuesday nights at Hunter Metheodist church. It is great...
Hello all, God is good, all the time, and all the time, God is good. The neighbors down the street, Ray and Kim, when we first met them last summer they would only pier through the crack in their door to talk with us. And since then Becki has brought them meals, and...
Hello all, I pray that you all have had a great start to a new year. This one thing I know is that we serve a great Great God and He is on the throne. I was able to heal up from last month’s surgery and only suffer from occasional slight pain around my new scars. ...
About Jesse & Becki Brattrud
It is our vision and focus to plant churches and to establish a base that can accommodate other missionaries and/ or those who are being raised up for ministry
Our plan is to attend language school and while attending language school we will explore rural Brazil, west and southwest Brazil specifically, the farming communities and small towns. Our next step would be to find the area with the most need, those little red or orange dots on the map that signify less than 2% Christian. Once we find that location then we will begin to search for a central location around the greatest need to establish a base. Once we graduate language school we want to quickly and smoothly transition to the new location, walk around the villages praying and helping anyone out that we see needs and will accept it. Then invite them and their families to our place for supper serve them Jesus. Plant a church, begin street preaching in the town, raise up leaders that are capable of reproducing Christ in others and spreading the gospel. Turn the church over to the people and establish a pastor. Oversee the local pastor and repeat. The goal will be to plant as many growing, self sustaining Christ-centered churches as by Gods grace and power that we are able. To bring blessings to the communities by Acts 3:26 “When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
