This word has recently taken on a whole new meaning for me! I used to see it as something really challenging or negative. When I would think about walking in obedience many times I felt like it meant giving up something I loved or like it was going to come at a great “cost”. I think I had somehow developed this belief that obedience was going to be me suffering for God, and that is certainly NOT truth!!
However, recently, I have been overcome with an excitement with walking in obedience to what the Lord asks of me because I have seen the fruit of what comes when we do. I have come to truly understand that God only asks us to be obedient because He has something far greater waiting for us at the other side of our obedience! I’ve come to know that He only asks for our obedience because He is trying to guide, direct, and protect us!
It makes me think of this picture
I share this with all of you because obedience is something the Lord has really been asking of me in this season, and as challenging as it has been at times, the reward has far outweighed the sacrifice EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
I recently made the decision to walk in obedience to what I felt the Lord was asking of me and completely focus on building a partnership team and raising funds to get to the Philippines! I had no intentions of leaving my job so soon and it was a hard decision for me, but I chose obedience and I want to tell you all that since then my monthly support has DOUBLED!!!..in only 2 months! The Lord only asked me to lay down my job so that He could show me Himself as provider, (which I will need to know Him as on the mission field) so that He can get me to the Philippines sooner, so that I can get more time with the people I love before I go, it was all for MY GOOD!!..So I encourage you all..walk in obedience to the things God is asking you to do because it is only for your good, and it will only bring you closer to Him and have you fall more and more in love with Him!
That being said!
Im really exited to let all of you know that I have been cleared by my leaders to purchase my plane ticket when I reach $2000 in monthly support, and my projected launch date is the end of June!!! This means that If I can get 15 more people to commit to $50/month I will be on my way to the Philippines next month! Do you feel the Lord prompting your heart to be one of those to help me get there? If so please follow the instructions below to partner with me!

About Brittany Valdivia
My heart is to love the unlovable, see the broken and hurting restored, and bring hope to the hurting and hopeless.
I just recently returned from working in the Philippines for 3 months where I spent some time working with young girls who have been trafficked, as well as some time with the people who live in the mountains. I loved my time there and am currently building a partnership team so that I can return.
