Return from Belgium…

Carol and I could relate on many levels (from daily chores of life to ministry perceptions) despite our age difference. I enjoyed hearing her life story, how she came into ministry and how God has led her through the years. It was encouraging and inspiring. We laughed a lot!

Carols ministry revolves around prayer. We went to 2 to 3 prayer meetings (European Parliament, Vineyard Brussels Church, House of Prayer) a week. For prayer in the EP we had to be checked in with ID card or passport and go through metal detectors. We then went to the prayer room. Representatives from many other faiths pray in that same room so those who are there on a regular basis know to pray cleansing from anything that may be lingering from other forms of prayer. There were anywhere from 4 to 7 nationalities represented and 6 to 30 participants in the 4 weeks I was there. I was excited to observe and participate in these meetings. God is so good and speaks to us when we pray, if we spend time listening.

While there she was asked to lead the prayer teams for up coming Heidi Baker and David Hogan conferences.

Her home…

I was able to help Carol by giving her home a deep cleaning, clean and organize her office, and make meals while she was busy with ministry communications. These gifts freed her up and, among other things, she told me she is months ahead on the House of Prayer bookwork from where she usually is at this point in the year.

I am grateful for the wisdom and understanding that Carol demonstrated/shared in so many ways (personal time rest/getting things done vs. ministry time). There are many people in our lives who have much to give, older and younger. I encourage you to look at relationships in your life. Are you to speak into or glean from that relationship, or is it both? I think a true friendship is both!

About Brian & Stephanie Forbes

“We fix broken hearts and parts.”

We come alongside ministries providing practical solutions to everyday problems. This builds a trust between us that enables those in ministry to openly communicate what is in their hearts. We see freedom come as Jesus guides us in healing lives. These times of refreshing are great morale boosters offering the edge needed to effectively minister.
