What a beautiful season we are in!
Many of you may remember that the mother of our first three girls returned to the Davao area a little more than a year ago. You may also remember that shortly after arriving back in the area, she recognized the difference in her daughters and decided she wanted to experience God like her girls had. Since then, she has been following the Lord and working hard to get her girls back.
She has been growing so much in the Lord, and she has surrendered to Him over and over again to receive freedom and healing from things that have happened in her past. She has asked us for help in learning how to discipline her children and raise them in a godly home. She is working with some of the families on our team, learning to budget her money, and attending regular discipleship meetings.
Recently, we recognized that the time was coming very near for this family to be reunited, but the problem was that the girls’ mom did not have enough income to be able to provide for herself and all of her children. After some time in prayer and discussion with my team leaders, we felt the Lord had given us an idea. We made an offer to the girls’ mom to provide a better place to live – rent-free, along with a healthy supplement to her income for the first year that their family is back together again. This will allow her to focus on rebuilding the relationships with her children in her home without the worry of rent and utilities or the stress of how she will provide food, transportation, etc. She received this offer with great joy and excitement! Once we had moved her into her new home, we officially began the process for getting their family back together. The first step was to invite the local city government to visit the home and interview her regarding how she would take care of her kids. We have just received the results from this assessment, and she has been approved! So now, we have begun meetings both with the girls and with their mother to start working through the process of the transition. We are hoping that we will be able to see this precious family back together in one home sometime in April! Please pray for them as they prepare. Though it is a very exciting thing, it is a major transition, and the process can be somewhat difficult, especially for the children. We are thankful that in all circumstances, God’s grace abounds, and He will give them all that they need to make the transition!
As this story of restoration is entering a new chapter, we need your help. We are looking for friends who are willing to invest in the future of this family by helping us provide a rent-free home and income supplement for their first year back together. $100 a month will cover the rent for their home. $320 a month will cover the income supplement. We already have the first four months entirely covered, and we have a pledged commitment for the rest of the year’s rent. Would you consider helping to cover the income supplement to bless this family? You can make your donation online or by check by marking “Harden – Hope House” and then sending me a message to let me know what your donation is for. THANK YOU!!!
