HAPPY VALENTINE’S, GOD IS LOVE
Habari Gani Marafiki (How are you friends?), Here in Tanzania we are doing well as we continue to plow the ground and move forward with the vision God has given us. This month is known as
“THE LOVE MONTH” and in reality, every month should be a love month when our hearts are truly His. YES, we have ebbs and flows of life, some be-ing good and some being trying but when our foundation is in the rock of Christ Jesus we are not moved. Knowing the love of God for us is so impor-tant and absolutely foundational to knowing God himself, engaging Him and encountering Him as a good loving Father.
Jesus lived in an ongoing awareness of the Father’s love. The heart of sanctity is to know His love and to abide in His love. He treasures us and desires us and I know sometimes that is hard for some people to truly be-lieve because they haven’t learned to love themselves. Because of LOVE he died for you and me. The blood of Jesus is for the believer as much as the blood of Jesus is for the lost. Jesus died for you and for me as a ransom be-cause you are valuable to God. He cares about you!
“You are a chosen race, a chosen generation, a royal priest- hood, a holy nation.” 1 Peter 2:9
Our family is all doing well. The girls (Hope, Faith & Naomi) are growing at a fast rate and as many of you know, you blink and the time has run away from you. Naomi turns six years old March 11th and Luke is turning 3 years old April 11th. Our kids are very ac-tive and full of life. So this month of February has been full and never a dull moment. We have stayed busy with ministry life, the girl’s swim lessons to school activities, friends and teams, cake baking, a wedding, Valentines and the jug-gling of every day life in general here in Tanzania. As you can tell this month is flying by. Wheww, we are exhausted just thinking about it all.
So as I write this letter we are recovering from a FULL last week of wedding preparations for dear friends of ours that got married, Joel and Liz. Peter and I have had the privilege of pouring into them with premarital advice and just being good friends to them. We have known Joel for 16 years now and his wife Elizabeth is from Ohio USA. She is a doll that has quickly become like family over the last year. It was natural and fun to be a part of making this wed-ding happen and I (Mary) was their wedding coordina-tor for the ceremony, church decorator and was asked to make the wedding cake (5 layers high), 4 other extra cakes and 100 cupcakes so we put our lives on hold to be all hands on deck for them. Pray for them as they journey life together as newlyweds.
WOW! We are so excited to say that since the last News Letter in January we were able to accomplish the following,
Mary’s Health (healing of Vitiligo, back pain, joint pain and Plantar Fasciitis )
sence he was 5 years old anlmost 16 years and Peter grew up here sid we are now trying to come home ever y 2 years. So it is TIME! We also are trying to bring with us a Tanzanian family (The Mtunga family) that is close to us and, Lord willing, will be joining us half way through our trip.
