Peter & Mary Street February 2019 - Fire International

Habari Gani Marafiki (How are you friends?), Here in Tanzania we are doing well as we continue to plow the ground and move forward with the vision God has given us. This month is known as
“THE LOVE MONTH” and in reality, every month should be a love month when our hearts are truly His. YES, we have ebbs and flows of life, some be-ing good and some being trying but when our foundation is in the rock of Christ Jesus we are not moved. Knowing the love of God for us is so impor-tant and absolutely foundational to knowing God himself, engaging Him and encountering Him as a good loving Father.

Jesus lived in an ongoing awareness of the Father’s love. The heart of sanctity is to know His love and to abide in His love. He treasures us and desires us and I know sometimes that is hard for some people to truly be-lieve because they haven’t learned to love themselves. Because of LOVE he died for you and me. The blood of Jesus is for the believer as much as the blood of Jesus is for the lost. Jesus died for you and for me as a ransom be-cause you are valuable to God. He cares about you!

“You are a chosen race, a chosen generation, a royal priest- hood, a holy nation.” 1 Peter 2:9

Our family is all doing well. The girls (Hope, Faith & Naomi) are growing at a fast rate and as many of you know, you blink and the time has run away from you. Naomi turns six years old March 11th and Luke is turning 3 years old April 11th. Our kids are very ac-tive and full of life. So this month of February has been full and never a dull moment. We have stayed busy with ministry life, the girl’s swim lessons to school activities, friends and teams, cake baking, a wedding, Valentines and the jug-gling of every day life in general here in Tanzania. As you can tell this month is flying by. Wheww, we are exhausted just thinking about it all.

So as I write this letter we are recovering from a FULL last week of wedding preparations for dear friends of ours that got married, Joel and Liz. Peter and I have had the privilege of pouring into them with premarital advice and just being good friends to them. We have known Joel for 16 years now and his wife Elizabeth is from Ohio USA. She is a doll that has quickly become like family over the last year. It was natural and fun to be a part of making this wed-ding happen and I (Mary) was their wedding coordina-tor for the ceremony, church decorator and was asked to make the wedding cake (5 layers high), 4 other extra cakes and 100 cupcakes so we put our lives on hold to be all hands on deck for them. Pray for them as they journey life together as newlyweds.

WOW! We are so excited to say that since the last News Letter in January we were able to accomplish the following,

(1) We finished painting several rooms: $450
(2) We bought & put in 3 toilets and labor : $800 Thank you to all who gave and made this possible.
WHAT WE STILL NEED for the 1st FLOOR!!!!
(1) To buy 5 sinks, taps/faucets and Labor: $900
(2) To buy light switches, sockets, light fixtures, wiring them all in  for all rooms and labor: $1,200
(3) Building Kitchen Cupboards and labor: $720
TOTAL: $2,820
*** We also have an unexpected expense of New Architect plans drawn up that was demanded by the head of Social Welfare for our region and by immigration. So we currently need $710 to pay for the plans. This process has been and continues to be a journey of faith and so stretching but we are learning so much through it. As we build we continually see the need for this home to be finished and opened. Currently we have had cases come our way even this month of girls trafficked as shown above in the picture to the left and we have to fol-low through and do detective work each case, however, we can’t take any girls yet until our paperwork is finalized and our first building is completed enough to the head of Social Welfare’s stan-dards. So that brings us to the 2nd floor of our first building. As soon as we finish the first floor we want to move to the 2nd floor and finish it. *** Our first order of moving to completion on the 2nd floor is to do all the plastering. To plaster, the 2nd floor windows, 6 rooms, 7 bath-rooms, a kitchen, sitting room and hallway and concrete the floor + all labor it will cost us an estimated total of $3,860. We want to thank all of you all for your prayers and support!
