What an awesome time to be alive…
‘I’m sending you off to open the eyes of the outsiders so they can see the difference between dark and light, and choose light, see the difference between Satan and God, and choose God. I’m sending you off to present my offer of sins forgiven, and a place in the family, inviting them into the company of those who begin real living by believing in me.’ Acts 26:17-18 The Message Bible
A great big “Howdy-do” from the land down under, under Texas that is. I pray all is well with you and you are finding yourself right in the middle of the presence of the Lord. It’s a great place to be. The presence is what we value and long to see filling the lives of those in and around Guadalajara. He will change everything. Hope you enjoy this month’s news.
Takin’ it to the Streets
Well we aren’t the Doobie Brothers and we aren’t looking to make a political statement but we are about a revolution, a Jesus Revolution that is. A declaration of Jesus as King in every area of society and a demonstration of His kingdom presence everywhere we go. I’ve discovered that you can find every level of society in the streets. From the old to the young, rich to poor, educated to non-educated, clean to dirty, christian to non-christian, healthy to sick, happy to sad, and I could fill this newsletter with contrasting views, ideas, philosophies, religions, and even genders, but what we have come to see is that no matter who or where you come from, Jesus wants to encounter you and wants you to know Him more personally. So we go and we find people like Carlos, actually he found us and asked for prayer for his knee. He had lots of pain and had been walking with a cane. After prayer he is healed and jumping up and down and even running around to show off his healing. Carlos remembered us telling him that we get together on Wednesdays to give out food and prayer so he comes and finds us again because he wants to hang around those that hang around Jesus. He knows something is different in us and in him as well and he likes it. I love what Alan, one of our band members, recently said after going out with us to feed those living in the streets, “You all don’t just give out sandwiches, you also produce smiles and cause joy in people.” We aren’t called to just be peace keepers, but peace makers. Looking for those areas of life in others where the Prince of Peace isn’t shining bright and introduce peace, hope, and joy into those situations. It takes effort, time, patience and a determination to not let fear keep you from stepping out and sharing the love of God with someone else. I just read something on instagram re-quoted by Kris Vallotton, that said “Love costs but so does fear. And one of them never pays you back.” He is worth it all and the payment of His presence filling the scene is an incredible experience for all those involved.
On Saturdays we go out to the artsy district of Guadalajara, normally Karyn is the coordinator and helping more with the worship and leaves much of the one on one with people to others. Lately we have had so many people wanting inner healing and their dreams interpreted that she has had to take a step up and God has used her incredibly to bring resolution to people’s lives. One of the young ladies Karyn brought through inner healing has since contacted us wanting to get together to learn more about spiritual things. That is awesome! More on this later but we are looking at starting a small group in the area and are currently looking for a place to have it. Rent in that area is very expensive so be praying with us for the right place.
It is such a joy and honor to partner with you all in this Great Guadalajara Invasion. Heaven is invading this area and we have you to thank for it. Please continue to pray and give so that more people can experience His presence.
