Dear Friends and Family,
I am blessed beyond measure to have been a missionary serving in the Philippines 10 Years on Nov 8th. God has been faithful to provide all my needs. He has given me so many young women and children to love here. There have been times of rejoicing and tears, triumphs and failures, celebrating new life and grieving deaths. Missionaries have come and gone. We have walked through many hard times and had to learn from our mistakes. He has given me grace for the distance from my natural family. Missionary life isn’t easy, but it is so worth it.
In the ten years, I am thankful to have been a part of:
-Malnourished children being fed and growing stronger
-Children provided an opportunity to go to school and learn to read
-Teenagers given a chance to go to college, who became midwives, teachers and social workers.
-Discipleship Training Graduates became ministry leaders
-Mentored young single women who are now married and raising Godly families
-Hope for All Children Orphanage started
-Abandoned children who were given forever families
-Hope House of Restoration for girls rescued out of human trafficking
-Transformed lives of Hope House girls
-FIRE School of Ministry established
-FIRE International Philippines raising up Filipino missionaries
-People being miraculously healed and set free
-The gospel preached in public schools, open markets, homes, on the streets and burangay basketball courts.
-Watching answered prayers unfold and lives changed in Christ.
I am thankful for all of you who have partnered with me in prayer and financial support. You have made it possible for me to serve the Filipino people.
We are about to have some special Christmas celebrations at HFAC and then taking the children and all our dedicated care givers on a field trip to a cooler mountain park. A special thanks to CCC New Braunfels, TX, who sent a Balikbayon Box filled with toys for HFAC just in time for Christmas.
We are hoping to have new girls arriving soon who have been rescued out of human trafficking. I recently took our HH girls to a two day conference in Davao about Israel. They enjoyed learning about the feasts, traditions and why we pray for Israel. We also traveled together to Tagbaobo to lead a monthly youth bible study.
FIRE School of Ministry
A new semester has started and I am currently teaching Prayer and Intercession to the first year students. I don’t take this lightly, since no-one can really teach someone to have an intimate prayer life. I can however, model, inspire, encourage, challenge and give them some tools for prayer. Without an intimate life of prayer, they would only be puffed up with knowledge doing ministry in their own strength. Pray for them to grow in their prayer lives drawing closer to their savior.
United Prayer Rising Mindanao was life changing for me and others. So many different ministries and tribes came for 3 days to pray and believe for God to transform Mindanao. FSM staff and students helped with the event. The worship was rich with Filipino tribal sounds and dances. We heard about how God worked through dreams and a man’s love of making unusual musical instruments to reach a hidden tribal group in the mountains. God loves these tribes and longs for them to know him. We contended for break through of God’s purposes and peace in this region that has endured so many years of rebel groups fighting. My heart was deeply stirred by the unity we had in prayer and worship.
After UPRising, a team came to Davao to teach us about how to start a House of Prayer. The IHOP model of Harp and Bowl prayer was new to almost all those who attended this training. It blends music and prayer as we sing portions of the scriptures and let God lead us in singing prayers based on those scriptures. I have loved IHOP worship/prayer for many years. Since I arrived in the Philippines 10 years ago, I have prayed for there to be a house of prayer in Davao where people from different churches could come together to pray. Davao House of Prayer has started meeting in FSM classroom for now. God has provided funding to begin renovation of part of the building just for DaHOP. We start off slowly with just a few hours a week and will expand prayer sets early in 2019. My heart is rejoicing in these answered prayers.
Your Prayers and financial support are making a difference in Mindanao, Philippines. Thank you again for your faithful support. How can I pray for you? Please email your prayer requests.
