Dear Family and Friends,
Happy Thanksgiving! “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34 I love Thanksgiving time! After all, it’s the best way to live our daily life – focused on giving thanks and praise to our Father God! “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. A thankful heart truly is a joyful heart! If we just take a moment, it’s simple to see how many countless reasons we have to give thanks! Truly His love knows no bounds, He’s faithful to the end, He forgives, He restores, and He gives abundant life! I encourage you to tell Father what you are thankful for today!
Church of Truth 5th Birthday: We celebrated five years as a church at the end of October! We had a beautiful celebration service and the church was overflowing with people. There were about 40 people standing the entire time! It’s hard to believe it’s only been five years but we’ve come a long ways! Our first three winters we had no heating whatsoever (and it’s cold here!), but last winter we finally got the governmental permission to actually heat our building! Praise the Lord! It’s the little things, right? We’ve also seen the church grow, with many new believers and new leaders. God is good! Our goal as a church is to be faithful to those He’s entrusted us with and continue to expand His kingdom by preaching the Gospel! I truly love my church family!
Smila Leadership Conference: I recently spent three days in Smila ministering to the leaders and being ministered to myself! We had all the leadership from the village churches come in and we had a great time together worshipping and hearing from the Lord. A worship band from Kiev came to minister, and they were such an incredible blessing to us all! I didn’t even want to preach when they were done with their worship set! But I know everyone went back to their separate churches filled and encouraged!
Testimony: During the leadership conference in Smila, I met a girl named Tonya. She approached me after the first session and told me she knew me. I thought, okay, lots of people here in Smila know me, no surprise. But it turned out she’s from my city of Krivoy Rog and lives in my neighborhood – just one building away from me! I couldn’t figure out how she ended up in this small town at the leadership conference, but it turns out her friend attends the church in Smila. Tonya told me about how she remembered being part of our Camp of Rock kid’s camp that I held in my neighborhood for 12 years! She said she only came one year, when she was about 13 years old, and she knows that was the first time the seed of the Gospel was planted in her heart. She remembered everything about camp! Tonya went on to have a hard life, having a daughter at 16-years-old, struggling with addictions, and being married and divorced before at a young age. Now she’s 25 with a 9-year-old daughter and she became a Christian just four years ago! Tonya’s life has been completely changed and she just wanted to thank me for loving on all those neighborhood kids back in the day. She encouraged me that those kids were listening to us and that the seed of the Gospel is growing in their hearts too! I was so blessed to hear this! What an unexpected meeting! Praise Jesus! It’s not often we hear testimonies of the impact we’ve made on other’s lives, so when we do, it’s so precious!
Tea Evangelism: The tea evangelism continues, and as it continues to get colder we get more and more people who are ready for a nice hot cup of tea! A lady and her son came for some tea and told me that the month before, when we had been doing evangelism, we had prayed with her for her mother-in-law. The mother-in-law was in desperate need of healing and an operation but she was too sick to receive the operation. After we prayed, within days she was strong enough to receive the operation and now the doctors are amazed by her rapid recovery! This woman was so thankful that we were there to pray with her and that they witnessed the rapid results of prayer! God is good!
Greenfield Ladies Home: My precious ladies are still my joy! To spend time with them every week is beneficial for all of us! Some of the ladies really struggle with the feelings of abandonment and it’s hard to break through to them, but once in a while we have that golden moment where the Lord touches those places in their heart. Those moments are so precious and we’ve had several of those times lately. Every time we visit, we bring a bright spot into their day full of the love of God. The ladies are so appreciative and the staff too.
Christmas is coming, so I’ll be in Wisconsin again soon! I’ll be in the USA for about two months, from December 10th-until early February. I would love to see you and/or share about Ukraine at your church, home group, or gathering! Please get in touch with me at email@example.com so we can set something up! See you soon!
