Groups…

We continue to run Missions Outpost while Neill and his family are training in Hawaii. Neill’s dad is involved with the Gideon’s and the Kairos Prison Ministry. The men’s ministry group was here last month to share the transforming love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ in the Avery-Mitchell Correctional Institution. The Kairos Prison Ministry was established in 1976 to impact the hearts and lives of incarcerated men, women and youth, as well as their families. The group needed a place to sleep. We were happy to accommodate them.

 Field mice…

We were going down to feed the dog and cat. The dog had gotten hold of a field mouse. I challenged Stephanie to pick it up and toss it in the woods. I can’t believe she did it!

 On-going Projects…

We are on the final push to have the building ready for the youth group who will use the entire building. There are about 85 four-foot florescent light fixtures and I now have them all working.  I also got the well house re-plumbed. Joints were leaking and the filter was in the wrong location.  We discovered that one of the air conditioners was not working and had a church friend come out and give me a hand with it.

China in August…

God speaks and confirms in many ways. Stephanie had a dream. “M”, a missionary who runs an orphanage for special needs children in China, who Stephanie has served before, said “Stephanie, I need your help”. Stephanie woke up, told me about the dream. Then Stephanie picked up her phone, and there was the same message from “M” she had in her dream! “M” is pregnant and on bed rest. Several severe challenges are being visited upon the orphanage simultaneously.

We need help with these expenses. It already cost $950 to obtain her Chinese entry visa. Stephanie will need $20-40 a day for expenses, as well as flight costs.  The missionary is in the last 2 months of pregnancy and on bed rest. If she walks too much or picks up her other baby she has contractions. “M’s” Chinese husband is holding down daily activities at the orphanage.

Just days ago a tragedy struck, a baby who was left on their doorstep 2 years ago with many health complications died in his sleep. This can bring additional government scrutiny to the orphanage.

Prayer…

– For finances for Stephanie’s travel.

– Praise God! Our truck is paid off!
